ST.KITTS CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER ON PRE-RETIREMENT VACATION LEAVE. DENIES REPORTS OF TERMINATION
Lauds Relationship With Minister of Health Hon. Eugene Hamilton
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Patrick Martin has categorically denied reports on social media that he had been terminated with immediate effect on Thursday 16th June. Dr. Martin told local media that he had reached the mandatory age of retirement of age 55 . The CMO is said 60 years old.
Dr. Martin also denied reports that the Minister of Health, the Hon. Eugene Hamilton had not met with him since the new Team UNITY government took office in February 2015. The CMO said he had very good relations with Minister Hon. Eugene Hamilton.
The experienced physician stated that he would continue his successful private practice in addition to pursuing his passion of sports administration and journalism by attend upcoming sports functions and consider a post retirement career in broadcast journalism.
Meanwhile the Chief Personnel and Human Resource Manager, Ms Tofreda Rochester has told local media outlet Freedom FM that Dr. Martin had not been terminated but was asked to proceed on accumulated vacation leave.
