Chairman of the Board of Directors of the St.Kitts-Nevis Anguilla National Bank Mr Howard McEachrane and his family are today in shock as younger sister Grace McEachrane-Wheeler and her Husband Richard were brutally murdered in Tobago .

63 year Old Real Estate Agent Grace and her 72-year-old husband attorney Richard Wheeler lived on Tobago for the past 16 years . The couple was discovered hacked to death at their Riseland Gardens, Carnbee, home by a yard attendant around 11 am.

The attendant reportedly found Grace lying on her back on the property’s lawn while her husband was found in the living room. The employee immediately called the Police.

Officers who were at the scene described the act as “gruesome and very bloody.” A senior officer said Grace’s throat was slit, while Richard received several chops about the body.

Police believe robbery may have been the motive as the house was ransacked.

Neighbours told the local media that the couple was robbed several times in the past, the most recent being earlier this year. The house, however, is also outfitted with an alarm system monitored by Blink Vigilance and the couple had dogs.

The couple was last seen alive on Monday evening by neighbours.

Wheeler worked at top regional firm Lex Caribbean and specialised in conveyance and property law, while his wife worked with Island Investments.

The killing sent shockwaves in the quiet, middle-class village, with many residents expressing concern over not only these killings but the latest spate of gun-related killings on the island.
