In a spectacle of opulence and grandeur, Prime Minister Drew’s administration hosted an unprecedented $1 million New Year’s Gala, drawing both praise and scrutiny. Supporters and surrogates of the PM Drew-led government argue that the extravagant event was money well spent, signaling a commitment to national pride and prosperity.

Traditionally held as a marquee annual event, the Prime Minister’s Gala has seen various leaders, including Dr. Denzil Douglas and Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris, taking the stage over the years. Highlighting the seven pillars of gender, which include food security, social protection, COVID-19 recovery, green energy transition, economic diversification, sustainable industry, and the creative economy, PM Drew conveyed a commitment to building a resilient nation prioritizing the well-being of its citizens.

As the government promises inevitable changes in 2024, supporters argue that the gala showcased the administration’s vision and action, marking a significant step toward the realization of a sustainable island state.
