Saturday December 16th, 2017(Charlestown, Nevis):-The Opposition Nevis Reformation Party is pointing their fingers directly at the Incumbent Concerned Citizens Movement for a series of cancelled charters that were expected to leave North America on Saturday December 16th.
Popular Blogger and activist of the NRP Everton “Obi” Elliott took to social media to rant about the cancelled flights . He wrote “SABOTAGE! SABOTAGE!! Those wutliss son-of-guns are sabotaging Hensley and NRP overseas voters flights.”
Earlier in the week a leaked whatsapp group conversation showed that the NRP were in a state of chaos and disorganization regarding the chartered flights. Very senior officials of the Party were seen on the screenshot conversation expressing frustration in their ability to organize and finalise the charters. One individual pledged US$100,000 to the US$500,000 goal for the charters. With the window and deadline to finalise the charter a matter of hours away at that time it would seem highly unlikely that they would’ve been able meet the deadline to satisfactorily organize the flights.
The organized Charters to bring home hundreds of Nevisians to vote for the Monday 18th Nevis Island Administration elections was a major focus for both parties as far as their respective preparations for polling day. The ruling CCM have had seemingly much better luck in organizing their own charters with hundreds of their supporters descending onto Nevis on Friday, Saturday and more expected on Sunday.
The NRP Remains optimistic and have declared that with or without charters they are confident. All Polls leading up to the December 18th Elections suggest a win for the incumbent. However the Opposition have staged a very aggressive and vitriolic campaign . Whether that would have a positive or negative impact for the NRP is left to be seen
