Les Khan Named CEO of St.Kitts-Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit
Basseterre, St.Kitts (Monday September 12th 2016):- Mr Les Khan was On Monday the 12 September officially named the Chief Executive Officer of the St.Kitts-Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit. The announcement was made at the National Conference of Service Providers and Developers for the Citizenship By Investment Program which took place at The Royal St Kitts Hotel.
The conference was formally opened by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris.
The conference provided the opportunity for delegates to hear about the new direction for the unit under its new CEO and to hear from the team. Tamara O’Flaherty will present on Verification and Data Entry, Orin Roberts on the Technical Committee, Eirate McCall on Technology and Rapha Bailey on Certificates of Registration.
Other speakers include Dorietta Fraites from SKIPA on Property Valuation which is the science of calculating how much a property is worth using a registered property valuer. This is a key area to consider as it can highlight good investment opportunities as well as actions to take to increase a property’s value. SKIPA as an investment promotion agency will no doubt have much insight into this area as well as tools property valuations companies use. Doiretta Fraites will also speak on Project Management and later Eric Johnson from the Four Seasons Hotel in Nevis, and Micah-Rose Emmett from CS Global will speak on global marketing. With the incorporation of technology, the rise of project management and related ppm software has become important in the said field. Maybe Fraites’ experience could come in handy for the attendees.
The conference entitled “St Kitts & Nevis Redefining Global Citizenship, Leading the Way Again!” starts at 9am at The Royal St Kitts Hotel.
The Premier of Nevis and Senior Minister in the Federal Government, the Honourable Vance Amory, will deliver the closing remarks.
Mr. Les Khan, PMP, MSOC, BBA, is a Senior Program and Project Manager at IPSA Intl who brings over 20 years of experience with large global financial organizations in managing projects covering the implementation of new systems and products, development of trading applications, centralization of operations, business rationalization, merger integration, efficiency, compliance, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity. Familiar with instituting risk management practices in numerous organizations internationally, Mr. Khan’s experience in leading teams in phases of transition brings valuable experience to IPSA’s corporate and financial clients across the globe. He has become a lead consultant on citizenship by investment programs, performing risk and operational assessments and leading initiatives for improvement. Mr. Khan has also led initiatives to automate the programs and has been instrumental in leading IPSA’s regional conferences, bringing representatives from the various regional citizenship by investment units together with representatives from the US, UK, Canada, EU, and the IMF.
Mr. Khan’s experience comprises major global projects. As a global project manager for one of the largest multinational banks he was responsible for the Asia-Pacific region’s system implementation to meet regulatory mandates. Within this role he liaised with development teams, business units, compliance and regional project managers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. He developed working relationships with peers and dependent practice leads to trouble shoot and establish plans for effective project delivery. He has managed major projects across business lines and within Risk and Compliance departments including Compliance program management, system documentation and testing, process workflows, remediation activities based on Regulatory mandates and the validation of risk models for AML and OFAC activities. He acted as the key liaison between Technology, Business, Compliance and Operations.
Mr. Khan has also been involved in a number of OFAC initiatives at several large financial institutions. He was a project manager at one institution with one of the largest fines by the U.S. regulatory bodies.
Mr Khan is a member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) Member, Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) , Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Institute Member
He Holds a M. Soc. Sci, Counselling from University of South Australia and a B.A., Business Administration and Finance from Baruch College, New York
