Former SKELEC GM Loses Battle with Cancer

PHILIPSBURG:— The former General Manager of SKELEC Mr William Brookes has passed away . The CEO and former Temporary Manager of GEBE on St.Maarten passed away on Sunday. Brooks had been ailing for quite some time as he battled cancer. He was in the Netherlands, and recently in Columbia for medical treatment.
Recently he was also hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center but was later released.
Brooks was one of the candidates that passed the screening for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St.Maarten Electricity Company some months ago but was not appointed due to his medical condition.
Brooks succumbed to his illness at his home.
