Jamaican Reggae Entertainer Anthony Cruz is now in mourning after her daughter, 15-year-old daughter, Shanice Smith, was shot and killed in the United States.

“I can’t believe they kill my one and only daughter,” Cruz wrote in a Facebook post.

Media reports out of the United States said that young Shanice and her mother were found dead inside a Sunrise apartment where a man had barricaded himself.

The incident took place on Monday.

According to local10.com, an ABC news affiliate, Sunrise police said someone in an apartment called 911 to report gunshots. It is reported that the police called back the number and a man answered the telephone and told police, “I’m here.”

The man, Kevin Nelson, 32, surrendered peacefully to the police after a lengthy standoff.
