=Citizens throughout the federation of St.Kitts Nevis have been very vocal and open in expressing their views regarding the reports on Tuesday that Opposition Leader Dr Denzil Douglas had filed with the Clerk of the National Assembly a Motion of No Confidence in the government of Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris. The public response to the motion has been scathing with citizens of all walks and all party affiliations responding openly and loudly to condemn and ridicule the actions of the ousted former Prime Minister Douglas.
“Who ever is advising the Opposition needs to advise themselves. This Motion has to be a joke,” said one Social Media Blogger
Another Popular Blogger said ” This motion cannot be described as nothing more than a distraction. At a time when the country is seeing unprecedented development activity to file a Motion at this time can only be described as a distraction”
“This Motion has eliminated whatever little political stature the Former Prime Minister had. Its little wonder why it is being met with such widespread ridicule,” said another citizens via social media .
The Opposition’s Motion of No Confidence comes when the country is seeing a plethora of economic activity including the payment of a double salary for civil servants, reinstated holiday pay for Non-established workers , the historic visit of the worlds largest cruise ship, the opening of the eastline bus terminal, the launch of the $500 per month Poverty Alleviation Monthly Payments next week and on the eave of another carnival and christmas celebration with two VAT Days.
Speaker of the House Hon. Micheal Perkins has indicated that he will assess the Motion and stated that it will be dealt with at a future sitting of parliament
