Two Killed at Jamaica Labour Party Rally

ST JAMES, Jamaica – Opposition spokeswoman on Information Olivia “Babsy” Grange says that the police has confirmed that two people were killed during the shooting which prematurely ended tonight’s Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass rally in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, St James.

The two were understood to be among at least four people shot during the incident.

However, there was no information as to what caused the shooting and whether those who were shot were part of the rally or invaders.

According to initial reports, several explosions rang out while Opposition Leader Andrew Holness was making his presentation.

The massive rally’s proceedings subsequently came to an unexpected halt  and the St James police  dispersed the crowd that had gathered in the historic square.

The meeting was abruptly ended by the JLP leadership and supporters urged to return to their homes.
