STATEMENT BY US TOWN COUNCILLOR KEN W CLIFTON ON THE INVESTITURE OF THE RIGHT EXCELLENT SIR KENNEDY A. SIMMONDS CONFERRING STATUS OF NATIONAL HERO
On behalf of my family and all of my constituents in the Municipality of Randolph in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I am honored to extend sincerest congratulations to Dr. the Right Honourable and Right Excellent Sir Kennedy Simmonds on his Investiture conferring upon him the distinction of National Hero of St. Kitts ad Nevis.
Like America’s founding father George Washington some 250 years earlier, Sir Kennedy fought for and won Independence for St Kitts and Nevis from British colonialism in 1983 and became the Nation’s first Prime Minister. With his instincts, fortitude and vision, Sir Kennedy went on to empower his people and made St. Kitts and Nevis one of the most highly regarded and successful countries in the Caribbean and Latin American region.
We pray for continued God’s blessings upon Sir Kennedy, Lady Mary Simmonds, their children and the entire family.
May God bless St. Kitts and Nevis and all its citizens as we face the future in unity and with full confidence.
Kenrick W. Clifton
Town Councillor
Randolph, Massachusetts
