St.Kitts-Nevis Takes Eastern Parkway By Storm

Brooklyn, New York (September 6th 2016):- St.Kitts-Nevis took Brooklyn by storm when the Mass band “Gem of the Caribbean” blazed Eastern Parkway on Monday September 05th, 2016 as part of the West Indian Day Carnival Parade. The band, which boasted more than 100 strong, and was 2nd out of the gate on a perfect day for reveling. The DJ’s pumped the parkway with top Caribbean hits including those by SKN Artistes such as Nicha B, Shakki Starfire, Nu-Vybes, Small Axe and many more , while the Mass players put on a spectacular display like only Kittitians and Nevisians can . The Flag of St.Kitts-Nevis was held high and was seen along the length of the Parkway more times than any Labour Day Carnival in past years on Eastern Parkway. It was a hugely proud moment for the twin island Federation as easily thousands of SKN Nationals lined the parade routs showing their flags in support of the highly colourful , vibrant and exciting Mass Band
The Mass Band “Gem of the Caribbean” represented mainly nationals from St.Kitts-Nevis but also included nationals from as far south as Guyana, and the USVI in the north.
The violence that marred the J’ouvert jam was non existent on the Parkway and the scores of SKN Revellers reveled and paraded without incident.
The GEMS OF THE CARIBBEAN Mass Troupe was led by Bandleaders DJ Morryshow and Delia Fahie. The Band Apperance on the parkway was made possible through the support of the Minister of Tourism Hon. Lindsay Grant and the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, ZIZ radio and television stations, the national broadcasting corporation of St. Kitts-Nevis and Censational Treasures.

This mass troop was collaborated with v.i honduras jamaica and other islands as well it was a great experience and there were many more djs selecta 62 joseph dj bikeman dj raw and many others that weren’t mentioned where are the majorettes that were in the front in the purple and gold costumes?

It’s great to see little St Kitts / Nevis make a big splash in New York
YES!! YES!! YES!! SKN was well represented this year. For the pass 20 years I always make sure I attend the parade and represent for my island!!! Good to see I was not the only one this year and have people ask me “what flag is that?” Now can say wait til we truck to come!!!!!!
