Rol J Williams Is Rewriting The Academic History Of Nevis Says Hon. Mark Brantley As The Former Caribbean Jr Minister Of Tourism Aces CXC Exams With 17 Distinctions
Former Caribbean Junior Minister of Tourism, Rol-J Williams who has continued his trajectory of excellence by acing all seventeen (17) subjects sat during the the May-June CXC CSEC Examinations with 17 Distinctions .
The young genius wrote the following subjects: Biology, Caribbean history, Chemistry, Economics, Electronic Document Preparation and Management (EDPM), English A, English B, Food and Nutrition, French, Geography, Human and Social Biology, Mathematics, Office Administration, Physics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Social Studies.
Mr Williams revealed two keys to his academic success – balance and advanced planning – he found it essential to study hard, learn the material and still get 8 – 9 hours of sleep. In order to cover the material for 17 subjects it was also necessary to attend numerous after school classes from the time he was in third form.
Rol-J is passionate about Mathematics and French and hopes to pursue a career in neurosurgery. He also looks forward to joining the Nevis Literary and Debating Society at the Nevis Sixth Form College, which will provide him an excellent opportunity to utilize his oratorical skills. He wishes to thank his parents, Rolston and Janice Williams for their sterling support, as well as his teachers and Ms Pearl Bergan for her assistance.
In 2014, Rol-J Williams became the first person from Nevis to win the coveted Junior Caribbean Minister of Tourism regional title at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s Tourism Youth Congress. His performance was so exemplary that he set a new standard at this event. He went on to win the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Essay Competition in 2015. The Ministry of Tourism, Nevis extends heartiest congratulations to Rol-J and his family for his superlative CXC results and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
