(Times Caribbean Online) In a significant move towards streamlining communication services, the Government of Montserrat has embarked on a transformative journey led by Barbados-based media and communication specialist, Mr. Reudon Eversley. The objective is to integrate the Government Information Unit (GIU) and the Broadcasting Services (ZJB) into a unified operational entity.

Mr. Eversley, an adept Change Manager, commenced his three-month tenure on October 10, 2023. His role extends beyond the convergence, encompassing the formulation of recommendations for an efficient structural framework and resource allocation. Furthermore, he will steer the creation and implementation of media policies aligned with global best practices.

This initiative will be inclusive and participatory, as Mr. Eversley plans extensive consultations with stakeholders from public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations, media, civil society, and the general public. These interactions will serve as a vital input in shaping a collective vision for information and broadcasting services on Montserrat.

With a solid academic foundation and a wealth of practical experience in media and communication change management, Mr. Eversley brings invaluable expertise to this endeavor. His proficiency in media, journalism, strategic management, and political affairs is complemented by a distinguished track record, including consultancy roles for the Governments of St. Lucia and the Cayman Islands, as well as leadership positions at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation and the Caribbean News Agency (CANA) in Barbados.

As Montserrat embarks on this path of organizational evolution, the community eagerly anticipates a more streamlined, effective, and responsive information and broadcasting landscape.
