People’s Action Movement Chairman Ambassador Jonel Powell has reiterated his party’s full support and satisfaction with the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris . Ambassador Powell made the declaration during a recent Interview of Freedom FM’s Issues Programme.
Asked by a caller Ambassador Powell first confirmed that PAM will not field a candidate in St Christopher 7 – the constituency held by Prime Minister an Team Unity Leader Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris. The young charismatic Ambassador went on to express his party’s full support of Dr. Harris candidacy and representation in the National Assembly for that constituency currently and into the next general election.
The PAM Chair also addressed the leadership of the Team Unity Government. In a response to a caller Ambassador Powell stated “We are very satisfied with the leadership of Dr. Harris !”
The next General Election is due in 2020
In the 2015 General Election, the People’s Action Movement won 4 seats, more than any other party in the Federation. Recent polls have suggested that the PAM will likely increase their hall to 5 as Ambassador Powell himself has been enjoying favourable polling results in the Central Basseterre seat. Coalition partners CCM and PLP are also expected to pick up seats with CCM on track for a clean sweep on Nevis and the PLP Candidate Senator Akilah Byron-Nisbet polling exceptionally well in Const #3.
Currently the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly is made up of the PAM which holds 4 seats, the SKNLP, 3 seats, the CCM, two seats; the NRP and the PLP, 1 seat each.
The historic Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris led Team Unity tri–party coalition is made up of the PLP, CCM and PAM.
