St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Police Constable who was facing two internal investigations and fled the federation to the United States is currently in custody awaiting extradition.

Police last year issued a wanted bulletin for Constable Bijon Warner after he tendered his resignation and fled to the US.

Warner was being investigated for the shooting death of the Dominican-born officer, Brian Pacquette, and the assault of Businessman Gretson Isaac.

In 2016, Pacquette was shot in the leg during an altercation after responding to a robbery.

He was flown to Trinidad and Tobago for treatment but later succumbed to his injury.

In 2017, Warner was accused of gun butting Isaac and left him unconscious.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy while responding to a WINN FM question confirmed that Warner was captured in the United States where he resides.

Acting Commissioner acknowledges that the extradition process may take some time to be completed.

The police force has come in for heavy criticism for allegedly not flagging the officer at the airport, despite his being under investigation.

Former Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police officer Bijon Warner is in custody in the United States and is awaiting extradition to St. Kitts and Nevis, according to Acting Commissioner Hilroy Brandy.

Warner had absconded after an internal investigation was launched into his involvement in the shooting of the late Dominican-born officer, Brian Pacquette, who succumbed to the gunshot wound after and an altercation in June 2018 with Gretson Isaac which resulted in Isaac sustaining injuries that required treatment at the Joseph N France hospital.

There were numerous concerns as to how former officer Warner was able to abscond. Police Chief Ian Queeley, who is currently on leave, admitted that young man had fled, ultimately becoming a fugitive.
