DREW ADMINISTRATION YET TO FILL AMBASSADORIAL POSTS TO THE USA AND THE OAS NOW VACANT FOR UP TO 9 MONTHS

The Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Terrance Drew Administration after some 9 months in office have yet to fill two of the most significant ambassadorial roles of the Federation. Both roles of SKN Ambassador to the USA and SKN Ambassdod to the OAS are currently vacant as Her Excellency Dr. Thelma Phillip-Browne was asked to vacate the post of SKN Ambassador to the USA as of August 25th, 2022 and His Excellency Dr. Everson Hull resigned his position as Ambassador to the OAS. The SKN Ambassador to the US position has been vacant for the past 9 months while the OAS Ambassadorial position has been vacant for approximately the last 5 months.
It is unclear why the process of filling these significant positions has taken the new Drew Administration this long. In Grenada the government there came under tremendous public pressure for their failure to make key ambassadorial appointments up to months after taking office. No explanation has been provided by the SKN Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the significant delay in making the new appointments and filling the vacant ambassadorial positions.
With diplomatic week expected to take place shortly it is widely speculated however that both positions will be filled and announcements made regarding the significant diplomatic roles .
