BASSETERRE (26th Sept., 2018):  In an effort to streamline the dispatching process, and enhance the visitor experience in the cruise sector, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism held a dispatching workshop today at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Topics consisted of customer service, understanding the dispatching policy, the importance of transparency in the process, and breakdown of the system that allows for equal distribution of work for all taxi and tour operators.

Minister of Tourism, The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant, said that as the cruise sector continues to grow, the standards of operation will need to improve.

“It is imperative that we ensure that our guests experiences reflect one of quality customer service, and a smooth yet effective dispatching process. The workshop’s aim is to prepare all dispatching officers with the necessary tools and guidelines which will assist us in achieving faster cruise operation turnovers during the upcoming cruise season.” Minister Grant said.

The St. Kitts cruise industry has experienced a year of epic wins; having achieved the 1 millionth cruise passenger milestone on Monday 16th July 2018 and welcomed 1.1 Million cruise ship passengers to our shores on Wednesday 12th September 2018.
