BUJU BANTON Granted New Hearing by US Appeals Court
The US Appeals Court has granted a request by Buju Banton’s attorneys, that they be allowed to present oral
arguments before the court.
Lawyers for Buju Banton also known as Mark Myrie, are trying to get the court to grant the entertainer a new
trial.
He was sentenced to ten years in prison on cocaine charges in June 2011.
His lawyers are arguing, that he was entrapped by a paid informant, and that there is clear evidence of juror misconduct.
Lead attorney, Charles Ogletree, says the court’s decision to allow oral arguments is a positive step towards
justice and freedom for Buju Banton.
No date has yet been set for the lawyers to appear.
