Kittitian Hill Listed Among Best New Hotels on the Planet
St.Kitts-Nevis’ Kittitian Hill Resort At the edge of a cloud forest on lush Mount Liamuiga on St.Kitts and it’s Belle Mont Farm on Kittitian Hill is adding a refined new edge to St. Kitts, a sleepy Caribbean island 40 miles south of glitzy St. Bart’s according to Travel Liesure Magazine as part of the 2015 “It List” of the Best New Hotels on the Planet.
Kittitian Hill’s Clapboard guest cottages and villas, designed by Bangkok-based architect Bill Bensley, evoke vernacular Caribbean architecture according to the publication. The resort uses bamboo and banana trees discreetly to veil outdoor bathtubs. There’s no shortage of ultra-lavish amenities at Kittitian Hill (plunge pools, Italian linens, home theaters), though the real draw of Belle Mont Farm is its personalized attention and farm-to-table ethos. Mini-crates of ripe fruit from the property’s own 400-acre organic farm are delivered to your door daily, while Sunday brunch at the restaurant features farm-raised eggs, just-caught snapper, and house-made mamey apple jam.
Kittitian Hill is a 400-acre property at the northwest part of St.Kitts , away from the traditional tourist areas. It’s located high above sea level, in the foothills of 3,800-ft. Mt. Liamuiga, so there’s almost always a cooling breeze blowing.
Behind the property, is a seemingly endless, dense rainforest which engulfs the mountain. The development consists of the farm. Come November there will be 84 single-room guesthouses and seven multi-family units, a spa, restaurants and other facilities and all these things are in various state of completion.
These all blend below into a nine-hole golf course called Irie Fields.
