Dancehall Drama in St.Kitts
Deejays clear the air after arrest incident
by CURTIS CAMPBELL,
Dancehall artistes Pamputtae, Vawnessa Bling and Spice have blasted a mischevious website for publishing an article, which misled viewers to think they ran into trouble with the law in St Kitts on the weekend.
The artistes, who recently returned to the island after performing in St Kitts, told The STAR that two men, one said to be a member of Macka Diamond’s entourage, were apprehended by the police in St Kitts for stealing a computer. However, instead of telling the truth, the blog decided to publish their photos in an attempt to create controversy and get online views.
Certain joke
A rather upset Spice, who mostly travels with her fiancé, took her quarrell straight to the blogger.
“I guess you are gonna block me after this, but why don’t you get your story straight before selling it to people? And why do you have up my picture with this story, may I ask? I don’t run certain joke. So please take down my picture and get your story straight, and put up the picture of the person who stole the computer or the artiste who brought those men over there because I don’t even know them,” Spice posted on the blog page.
An equally upset Vawnessa Bling also chastised the bad press and vouched for her management team.
“I believe in God and I trust him and put him first. I can vouch for every member of my team, there were a lot of female artistes in St Kitts and each of us had our own team members, therefore, I ask that you check your facts before pointing fingers. I am currently in the US doing my other shows and my entire team is home safely,” said Vawnessa Bling .
Pamputtae said she does not tolerate persons who steal.
“Mi see the picture weh dem put up and mi waah that fixed up. Yu see my lane, nuh truck nuh inna my lane suh mi stay inna mi lane. Mi nuh red eye enuh, and yu see that stealing thing deh, a nuh my style dat, yu zimi. Dem have it twisted,” she said.
Wrong place
When contacted by , Macka Diamond did not want to divulge much information stating that she was sleeping at the time of the incident. She, however, said it was a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“I don’t have a clue what is going on, I was the last to leave the hotel because I was sleeping. I am just working off hearsay right now, but I cant say much because I havn’t received the real details as yet. One person is my road manager, but it wasn’t him as far as I know,” she said.
This is the second time an entourage member has stolen an item while on tour with a local artiste, Bounty Killer’s entourge member/brother was jailed overseas recently after he stole a cell phone.
