Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd Celebrates 129 Years of Catholic Education at ICCS

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Earlier today, Her Excellency Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd, GCMG, JP, attended the General Assembly at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS) in celebration of the 129th anniversary of Catholic education in St. Kitts and Nevis.
During the special occasion, Dame Marcella presented a commemorative plaque to Father Peter on behalf of the nation, recognizing the enduring contributions of Catholic education to the federation.



As part of her ongoing commitment to youth development and sports, the Governor General also gifted two netballs to the school, reinforcing her advocacy for netball and encouraging more young girls to participate in the sport.
Father Peter, speaking on behalf of the school community, expressed heartfelt gratitude for both presentations, highlighting the significance of the Governor General’s support for education and sports.
The event underscored the lasting impact of Catholic education in shaping generations of students while also promoting the empowerment of young girls through sports.
