ST. THOMAS, USVI – Police on Friday, February 9, 2019, arrested a 19-year-old man who was accused of raping a 10-year-old minor, USVIPD Public Information Officer, Glen Dratte has announced.
According to the USVIPD, the man, identified as Ryheim Moncherry, was accused by a female individual of raping the minor on January 9, 2019, which was when she reported the incident to police.
Warrant Issued
A warrant for Mr Moncherry’s arrest was issued by a Superior Court judge on Friday, February 9, 2019, and the suspect was then placed under arrest by police officers of the USVIPD’s Criminal Investigation Bureau.
Mr Moncherry was charged with aggravated rape, first-degree rape and first-degree unlawful sexual contact, according to Mr Dratte.
Unable to post bail, the suspect was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing. The USVIPD release did not specify in which district the alleged incident occurred.
