St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): An elderly lady lost the fight for her life after succumbing to injuries days after she was involved in a traffic accident in Newton Ground.
87-year-old Olivia Francis of Newton Ground was injured during the daytime on Tuesday, October 30.
WINN FM understands that during the initial investigations, the driver of the vehicle reportedly claimed the woman fell onto his car while he was reversing and might have hit her head on the road when she fell.
It was further revealed that due to the severity of her injuries, Francis was not able to give an account of what transpired.
EMS was summoned and Francis was transported to the JN France Hospital where she was warded in the Intensive Care Unit on life support.
A source close to the family indicated that she was taken off the machine on Saturday (November 3).
WINN FM was informed that an autopsy conducted on Francis on Monday (November 5) revealed that the elderly woman died from severe head trauma.
Police have not revealed the identity of the driver as investigations are ongoing. Police say the driver could face several charges if found responsible for causing the woman’s death.
