The postmortem results performed on a eight-month-old baby found dead in Marchand yesterday has confirmed the death as a homicide.

The baby girl’s body was discovered around 5 p.m. on Monday March 22nd by her mother, according to sources.

The baby has been identified as Melissa.

The postmortem revealed that the baby died of asphyxia secondary to ligature strangulation.

The dead child is the 24th homicide for 2017.
