ECTEL Managing Director, Embert Charles, will deliver the feature address at the week’s closing event.
Embert Charles, Managing Director of the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL), will be the feature speaker at the Delta Awards Dinner and Ceremony this Saturday, in Nevis.
Mr. Charles will speak on the topic “Telecommunications, a Regional Perspective – Establishing the Framework for Positive Social and Economic Development.”
The Delta Awards Dinner and Ceremony is part of a series of activities held to observe ICT Week, hosted by the Nevis Island Administration’s Information Technology Department.
This is the IT Department’s first Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Week. It is being held under the theme “An Introduction to ICT for Positive Social and Economic Development,” from Feb. 12 -18.
During the week, several events geared toward increasing knowledge and heightening awareness of ICT were held, with the aim to connect ICT solutions providers with solution seekers; promote the growth and development of the local ICT sector; raise awareness about critical ICT issues such as cyber-security, cyber-bullying and artificial intelligence and; generate interest in ICT as a career for young people. ICT is a career path that definitely needs interest generated. Although there is a process of finding yourself in the ICT industry, namely through examinations that may put youngsters off, there is plenty of material online that can be used to help people get one step closer to this career, including these ms-900 exam questions. Hopefully, this relief may encourage more and more people to look into ICT as a potential career, and help the industry flourish.
While in St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Charles will also meet with the Minister responsible for Telecommunications, Vincent Byron, as well as the NTRC, and will finalize plans for a road show on the new EC Bill.
The Nevis Island Administration’s ICT Week culminates on Saturday, Feb. 18 with the Delta Awards Dinner and Ceremony.
