PRIDE one win away from advancing to finals! HUNTA wows the crowd!
SANDY POINT, St. Kitts (26th July, 2016): For the first time in the history of the town, a team representing the Sandy Point community will have an official mascot roaming the sidelines at select contests and other events geared towards building pride and promoting it’s unique brand.
The mascot, a brown-maned lion wearing a white team branded t-shirt , was revealed to the supporters in attendance of SP PRIDE’s first ever playoff victory (94-78) on Tuesday vs the Conaree Fireballs.
“This is an exciting time for PRIDE sports as we look to go deep into our first playoffs!” said Randy Desuza- Team Manager
“HUNTA, our lion will be a great way to rev up the excitement at our games and other team events!”
PRIDE is now 15-0, including an undefeated regular season, and with a win this coming Sunday can advance not only to the final round of the 2016 SKNABA ‘A’ Division but also punch it’s ticket to the 2017 Premier Division dance!
Leading the offensive charge for the lions were the talented Chavez ‘Beto’ Belboda (21 pts , 6 assists 2 blocks 3 Rebs) and team co-captain Sheeno ‘Jeezy’ Liddie (16 pts , 18 Rebs 5blocks). Not to be outdone, was Taslin ‘Curry-Wade’ Belboda with a near triple double performance (15 pts, 9 Rebs 10 assist) and junior league star Secada ‘Shuggy’ Garroden with 14pts 6 Rebs 3assists.
The lion is symbolizes the community’s strength,royalty, and courage.
HUNTA will make an official appearance at the PRIDE Cubs FanMily outing this coming Sunday July 31st, when PRIDE Sports collaborates with its lead sponsor Humble Beginnings Clothing to treat over 50 primary school kids from the Sandy Point community to an evening of exciting basketball.
