Tourism Authority Dismisses Reports by Radio Station Owner Surrounding Apparent Suicide Attempt
Basseterre, St.Kitts (July 24th 2015):- Social Media was abuzz this morning with news of an apparent suicide attempt by a well known employee of the Tourism Authority. According to reports the young lady jumped into the ocean at the Port Zante . Fortunately she was rescued by two persons and brought to shore where CPR was performed and she was revived.
It wasn’t long before a report appeared on the facebook page of the CEO and Founder of Kyss FM Mr AU Browne . Browne reported in his post that the young lady may have been distraught after losing her from the Tourism Authority where she is employed.
The post stated “I was informed this morning that a secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, so depressed over losing her job attempted suicide earlier today. It is very sad that our people have to resort to this extreme measure, as our uncaring, vindictive and deceptive government continue to unleash rampant political cleansing across the federation.”
Speaking to WINN, Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Authority Nick Menon, dismissed the reports circulating in social media that the young lady had been fired from her post. He said she is a valued employee and her employment was never under threat. “On behalf of her colleagues and her friends at the Tourism Authority, I am appealing for privacy at this personal and difficult time,” Mr. Menon told WINN.
Browne is a very vocal critic of the Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris led Team UNITY Government.
