St.Kitts-Nevis Cultural Ambassador King Socrates Performs at London Nottinghill Carnival Launch
London, England (August 18th):- It was an Electrifying evening at the launch of the Nottinghill Carnival at the St Lucia High Commission in London. Despite the rain the turn out was magnificent, a full house came out to see St.Kitts-Nevis Calypso Legend King Socrates headline a plethora of Caribbean artistes and entertainers including saxophonist David Fitz; Nigerian Gospel Singer Sophy-ya, Canadian based Actress and director Rhoma Spencer and Roger Spencer.
King Socrates Hodge a cultural ambassador of St .Kitts performed the calypso ‘2034’ and showed his versatility when he played a Lord Kitchener rendition on pan .

The diversed audience consisted of High Commisioners or representatives from Iceland , Mexico, Poland, Antigua and Barbuda, Zimbawe,Trinidad and Tobago, America, Georgia, Commander Dave Musker, Superintendant Robyn, Williams,Chief Superintendent Colin Morgan, Chief Superintendent Craig Haslam, IMD Legion, various artistes, media representatives, arts organisations, carnival pioneers and many others.
H.E Dr. Ernest Hilaire the St Lucia High Commissioner was host of the event which promoted the 2015 theme ‘EMERGENCE OF CARNIVAL’.
