It was a spectacular Opening Ceremony with distinct Brazilian flavour and influence. Colours, Vibrance, Excitement and of Course Style .
When you’re trying to stand out among 200+ countries, you can’t be drab thus your country’s style becomes critical. Especially for many countries who may not even have an athelete that will featire beyond the preliminaries the Opening Ceremony maybe the only opportunity they have to be featured at the World’s Biggest Sporting Event. You can’t do the expected or go with boring colors and designs. You need to pay homage to your country while also looking stylish and keeping athletes’ comfort in mind. Essence Magazine featured the Best Uniforms at the Opening Ceremony and among their list were only Two Caribbean Nations namely Jamaica and St.Kitts-Nevis.

Flag bearer Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica leads her Olympic Team during the opening ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at Maracana Stadium, Aug. 5, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
No one could miss Jamaica’s Olympians as they walked through the opening ceremony in Puma-designed uniforms. The team sported bright yellow jackets with either yellow, black or green sports pants — a nod to the colors of the country’s flag. And it was impossible to miss flag-bearer Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s yellow and green hair!
The St.Kitts-Nevis Olympians stood out among the 200 plus Nations with their National Wear inspired design by YAKIMA DANIEL of Kiwie Dan Courture.
The design consists of the colors that are in the National Flag; green, yellow, red and black.
