St.Kitts Label Launches Fabian Marley Hit “Naw Go Say Me Poor”
New York Based St.Kitts Label MASSIVE Entertainment Group has launched the massive hit “Naw Go Say Me Poor” by Fabian Marley the eldest son of Reggae Legend Bob Marley.
Massive Entertainment Group is owned by Kittitian Clayton “Massive” Thomas who heard some of Marley’s songs in late 2014 through a mutual friend in New York. Once he decided to forge a professional relationship with him, Thomas sought legendary reggae producer Clive Hunt to produce Marley’s recording under the Massive Entertainment Group Label.
Clive Hunt, whose resume includes work with The Abyssinians, Jimmy Cliff, Mystic Revealers, Etana and French singer Pierpoljak, said he knew nothing of the diminutive Marley when Clayton Thomas, head of Massive Entertainment Group, approached him to produce the songs.
“I didn’t know anything about Fabian, I was just asked to produce a reggae artiste and I decided to work with him based on his merit,” Hunt told the Jamaica Observer.
Bass players Ian Hoilette and Danny ‘Axeman’ Thompson; guitarist Wayne Armond, drummers Kirk Bennett and Wayne ‘C Sharp’ Clarke and keyboardist Franklyn ‘Bubbler’ Waul played on the sessions at Mixing Lab studio in Kingston.
The boisterous and super confident Thomas started in the music business working with St.Kitts Soca Band 14 Minus back in the early 90’s. Later, he produced songs by Luciano and Mikey General. St.Kitts Superstar Infamus was also breifly signed to his label. Thomas who is super proud of his Kittitian Heritage plans to not only launch the career of Marley but also he intends to do the same for many of the young promising artistes in the Caribbean and in particular his home in St.Kitts.
