The Nevis Island Assembly Elections are two days away on Monday December 18th 2017. The Island of Nevis is abuzz with campaign activity as the ruling Concerned Citizens Movement CCM and the Opposition Nevis Reformation Party NRP are in their last furlonge of campaigning before Monday’s highly anticipated poll.
All indicators are pointing to a victory for the incumbent CCM . Leading the CCM is recently elected Leader the Hon. Mark Brantley who served as Deputy Premier and is currently serving as Foreign Affairs Minister for the Federation of St.Kitts-Nevis . Hon. Brantley is set to become the island’s 4th Premier and the first one in over 30 years who does not carry the last name Amory or Parry.

Brantley recently took over leadership of the CCM in an inspirational special party conference at which Party Leader Premier Vance Amory officially past the leadership Baton to Hon. Brantley.
The Charismatic Brantley is not just one of the most popular politicians in St.Kitts-Nevis but one of the most popular Caribbean political personalities throughout the region and the world .
Brantley has made his mark on his Ministry of Foreign Affairs portfolio in the Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris led Team Unity Administration. Brantley has been at the forefront of the country’s global footprint explosion which has seen St.Kitts-Nevis expand it’s global reach with the official estasblishnet of relations to a plethora of countries throughout the world.
The soon to be Premier Brantley spearheaded the unprecedented expansion of the St.Kitts-Nevis Global diplomatic foot print with the establishment of relations with 15 new nations including Belarus, Bolivia, Croatia, Cyprus, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Kosovo, The Maldives, Russia, Mauritius, Mongolia, The Gambia, Saudi Arabia and Senegal. These new establishments enables VISA free access . Visa Free access to countries means that citizens and residents alike who hold a valid passport of St. Christopher and Nevis and present it to the specified borders are allowed to enter without hindrance. It also adds worth to our passport which is one of the most sort after in the Global Citizenship Industry .
Brantley will be expcted to further enhance his island’s Tourism sector as it remains the most significant contributor to the economy. The current infrastructural enhancement projects and activities being undertaken by his CCM Led NIA should be continued and further expanded.
