St Kitts Bolsters UK Presence with New Trade Lead Aimed at Agent Sales Surge

In a strategic move aimed at fortifying its foothold in the UK travel market, the picturesque island of St Kitts has appointed a new trade lead. Suzy Trott, an adept professional from the sales and marketing representation agency Silva, has been entrusted with the pivotal role. Tasked with driving increased sales through agents, Trott is set to spearhead a series of initiatives geared towards enhancing St Kitts’ visibility and appeal among British travelers.

Trott’s responsibilities encompass a multifaceted approach, including conducting agent training sessions, representing St Kitts at roadshows, and accompanying agents on familiarization trips to the island. These concerted efforts mark a concerted push by St Kitts Tourism Authority to capitalize on the burgeoning interest in the destination and foster sustainable growth in visitor arrivals from the UK.

The timing couldn’t be more opportune, as St Kitts witnessed a remarkable surge in monthly arrivals last year, boasting an impressive 40% increase on average compared to 2022. Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, Chief Executive of the St Kitts Tourism Authority, expressed optimism regarding Trott’s appointment, emphasizing its potential to build upon the momentum generated despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

Thompson underscored the pivotal role of travel agents in shaping St Kitts’ success as a premier tourism destination. He lauded Trott’s expertise as a Caribbean specialist, affirming her ability to deliver comprehensive destination training, engage in impactful roadshows, and facilitate immersive familiarization experiences for key travel agent partners in the UK market.

“We ended 2023 with monthly arrivals from the UK up by an average of 38 per cent, versus 2022, and we’re excited to build on that in 2024,” Thompson remarked, highlighting the tangible progress achieved and the promising trajectory ahead.

St Kitts’ accessibility is further enhanced by twice-weekly year-round British Airways flights from Gatwick, providing convenient connectivity for travelers seeking to explore this idyllic Caribbean gem. With Suzy Trott at the helm of its UK trade initiatives, St Kitts is poised to elevate its allure and capture the imagination of discerning travelers seeking unparalleled experiences amidst pristine natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
