"Kim Collins Named First-Ever Track Ambassador as SKN Athletics Celebrates Legendary Sprint Icon"

Global Sprint Legend Kim Collins

In a historic move, the St. Kitts and Nevis Athletics Association has proudly announced the appointment of its first-ever Track and Field Ambassador: none other than the nation’s own sprinting legend, Kim A. Collins. A global icon in athletics, Collins’ extraordinary career, spanning over two decades, continues to make waves around the world.

SKN Athletics released a statement celebrating the new role of the 2003 World Champion, who remains a household name in track and field. “Mr. Kim A. Collins holds a personal best and national record of 9.93 seconds for the 100m,” the association proudly noted, adding that Collins is still the only man over 40 to have broken the elusive 10-second barrier. His blistering time of 6.47 seconds in the 60m is also a world record for athletes over the age of 35.

Collins’ appointment is seen as a major step forward for St. Kitts and Nevis athletics, with SKN Athletics stating that the sprint legend will play a pivotal role in attracting global sponsorship and elevating the sport to new heights in the federation. Despite his monumental achievements, the government of St. Kitts and Nevis has yet to officially recognize Collins as a sports and tourism ambassador, leaving SKN Athletics to shoulder the responsibility of ensuring the sprinter’s contributions to both athletics and the nation are continuously honored.

Collins’ tenure as Track and Field Ambassador is set to usher in an era of renewed excitement and global attention for athletics in St. Kitts and Nevis. The SKN Athletics Association deserves commendation for recognizing and celebrating the unmatched impact that this iconic athlete has made, not just for his country but for the sport on a global scale.
