A well known 36 Year Old Sandy Pointer is now FREE thanks to the Court of Appeal
Denrick “Sadam” Jeffers is now a free man after the 3 person panel of Justices overturned his July 2012 Conviction of Rape.
Then a civil servant, Jeffers was sentenced to 10 Years in Jail for the alleged rape of his co-worker also a Civil Servant who accused him of sexually assaulting her at the workplace at Government Headquarters.

Jeffers’ Attorney , Dr. Henry “Stogumber” Browne QC, argued that the judge in the matter resident High Court Justice Errol Thomas, failed to give proper direction to the jury in his summation.

The the three Justices including Chief Justice Madame Janice Pereira along with Justice of Appeal Louise Blenman and Acting Justice of Appeal Paul Webster agreed with the argument presented by QC Browne.

Jeffers was a well known figure in the Sandy Point Community. His rape conviction sent shockwaves through the proud tightly knit community. Jeffers was one of 9 St.KITTS-Nevis students to graduate from Midwestern College in 2010. He earned a Bsc Majoring in Environmental studies and a minoring in Biology.
