POLICE INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY AND SHOOTING INCIDENT AT RBC BANK ON WELLINGTON RD

 

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 29, (RSCNPF):  The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating an incident of armed robbery which resulted in the victims receiving gunshot injuries.  The incident occurred sometime after 7.00pm on Friday (October 28) in the vicinity of the Royal Bank on Wellington Road.

 

Initial investigations revealed that two employees of a security company were making a night deposit drop when the incident occurred.

Times Caribbean has learnt that the two employees Seymour Liburd and Arlene Nisbett are co-owners of the security company and were shot by the assailants. According to eye witness reports there were at least 2 or as many as 4 assailants.

 

Both victims were taken to Joseph N. France General Hospital and are undergoing medical treatment.

 

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police appeals to anyone who may have been in the area and may have seen the incident to come forward with any information they may have.  Persons can do so by calling the Violent Crimes Unit at 465-2241 ext 4358 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-88477 (TIPS).
