St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): Several days after police charged two individuals in connection to the shooting of three young men in St. Paul’s, a third has been taken into custody and is said to be assisting with the investigation.
Police disclosed that the third individual was apprehended Monday, however, they have not identified the person.
On January 7, three young men were sitting on a wall next to Lovers Lane Alley when around 9 pm a car pulled up and two occupants disembarked, opening fire.
Police said that 22-year-old Calvert Francis, 18-year-old Alvin Browne, and a male juvenile, all of St. Paul’s were struck in the legs after they tried escaping the onslaught of bullets.
Police in a statement said they arrived on the scene and fired at the bandits’ car before they could leave the scene. A police chase ensued from St. Paul’s ending in Christ Church when the occupants of the car ditched their vehicle and escaped on foot.
Subsequently, police laid charges against two brothers- twenty-nine-year-old Maverick Tyson of Challengers Village and twenty-six-year-old Kentab Tyson of West Farm Project.They were each charged with three counts of Attempted Murder and one count of Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
