Pitbull, Destra, Machel Montano, Elvis Crespo, Skinny Fabulous and Capelton among remaining names for St.Kitts Music Festival
The St.Kitts Music Festival Committee will shortly be announcing the remaining acts for this year’s edition of the now World renowned event.
Times Caribbean has been reliably informed of some of the names that are expected to be among the final set of names to be added to this years event.
Pitbull, Destra, Machel Montano and Capelton are Among the final names for this years fest. Pitbull aka Mr Worldwide is currently riding high with the release of the official FIFA World Cup Song “We are One” with Jenifer Lopez . (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W3sWiZ-iO8)
Pitbull whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez, is a hugely popular Cuban–American recording artist and Latin Grammy winning rapper from Miami, Florida. He has released seven albums over the years and is known for teaming up with a plethora of artistes particularly Caribbean artistes such as Machel Montano, Sean Paul and Rihanna. Thus there is no surprise that most of his music has a definite and distinct latin, Caribbean, reggae, soca influence.
Also expected to be announced is the undisputed King of Soca Machel Montano along with Soca Queen Destra. Machel is the reigning Trinidad and Tobago Power Soca Monarch and Road March King. While Destra is considered the top female soca artiste in the world.
The Fireman Capelton is expected to blaze up the Music Festival Stage along with the sweet smooth sounds of Taurus Riley.
Merengue superstar Elvis Crespo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPiEbYSF9kE) and Vincentian Soca King Skinny Fabulous will also grace the music festival stage.
There is still some speculation that Kittitian born soca artiste PUMPA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kOxdHf1yds) will be among remaining acts. Skinny Fabulous may have gotten the nod over PUMPA because of Fabulous’ “Me and Me Neighbour Voting for Labour” (http://youtu.be/rWVhok17G_Y ) Vincentian Labour Party song that he may very well chose to perform here during the festival which falls in the middle of the so called political silly season in St.Kitts-Nevis.
Road March Champions Small Axe may be the only local band invited for this years fest. Local fans have been calling for the return of Infamus to the Music Festiuval stage as well as the debut of the hugely popular Hi-Light. Whether they will be considered is left to be seen when the remaining names are disclosed.
So based on the names that have already been released and the names we have just learnt are to be released shortly the St.Kitts Music Festival 3 day Line-up MAY look something like this:
- Thursday June 26th– Machel Montano, Skinny Fabulous, Elvis Crespo, Small Axe Band and Destra
