Parliamentary Bills can now be accessed on St.Kitts-Nevis Government’s website www.sknis.info


Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 22, 2016 (SKNIS): The St. Kitts and Nevis Information Services (SKNIS) will now make electronic copies of all Bills set for the first reading in the National Assembly easily accessible.

 

In keeping with the Government of National Unity’s policy to promote transparency and accountability, all Bills will posted on the government’s website www.sknis.info under the section documents, in an effort to educate nationals and residents of the Federation.

 

The National Assembly of St. Kitts and Nevis will meet on Tuesday January 26, 2016, at 10:00 am at the National Assembly Chambers at Government Headquarters.

 

According to the Order Paper, two Bills will have their first reading, while one Bill will have its second reading.

 

The Honourable Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Finance, Sustainable Development, National Security and People’s Empowerment, Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and the Licences on Businesses and Occupations (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

 

The Honourable Minister of Agriculture, Health, National Health Insurance, Human Settlements, Community Development, Gender Affairs, Social Services, Lands and Cooperatives, the Honourable Eugene Hamilton, will move the second reading of The Fisheries Bill, 2015, which had its first reading on November 17, 2015.
