Back then, many of you were distracted. But with events unfolding as they have over time, more of you are, thankfully, now focused on the message, which removes the distraction.

The ‘garment’ of Denzil Douglas’ leadership of this country is woven with lies and lawlessness. And that ‘garment’ has now been truly shredded. Douglas’ leadership is indeed naked and exposed.

By now we all know that when his factotum, Erasmus Williams, said that the removal of the Place of Birth field from St. Kitts & Nevis passports had been done at the request of the United States Government, he was not telling the truth.

Perhaps when he uttered that comment, he naively believed that it wouldn’t be seen or heard beyond Indian Castle and Dieppe Bay. And maybe, with all the deception that has been successfully perpetrated against the people of this country, he believed that one more untruth would work.

But he was dead wrong on both counts, as we know from the US Government press release, through its Embassy in Barbados, stating that the US had not requested such change. Indeed, in its response, the US Government indicated that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) “specifies place of birth as a key element of biographic data for machine readable and e-passports”.

The US Government also stated that, as a result of the absence of this important piece of biographical data from our passports, it has had to require additional documentation in order to ascertain whether persons with St. Kitts & Nevis those passports are in fact eligible to be issued with US visas.

And this is the reason it has become more difficult for Kittitians and Nevisians to get US visas in recent times.

Imagine spending so much money to get to Barbados, only to be turned down because, thanks to Denzil Douglas, and through no fault of your own, your passport doesn’t have a Place of Birth field in it.

And, let me remind you, Erasmus Williams is not the first factotum of Douglas who has come up with nonsense like this with regard to the Place of Birth story.

Do you recall one of them saying in Parliament that the absence of Place of Birth information is okay with the ICAO, while the US Government is telling us the exact opposite, and declaring that the ICAO has deemed such information is “a key element of biographic data for machine readable and e-passports”?

How many untruths are these factotums willing to utter on behalf of their naked emperor, as he takes step after step to jeopardize and demonstrate utter disregard and contempt for the people of this nation?

Any thinking person would’ve known that Erasmus Williams’ statement had to be untrue. It was a mere distraction. The people who influenced the deletion of the Place of Birth field are not the Americans, but overseas economic citizenship service providers who wield influence over the illegitimate, lying and lawless Douglas regime.

They want as relaxed an arrangement as they can so that they can make as much money.

And if our economic citizenship program turns sour, shrinks or closes down, these modern day versions of Ferdinand and Isabella will simply look to take over yet another government.

For them it’s all about as much money as they can get and as quickly as possible. They’ll throw you under the bus in a heartbeat.

And that’s what has compromised the interests of the rest of us: some greedy foreign interests wielding influence over a lying and lawless regime.

A government whose garment is woven by propriety would give Williams a choice of resigning or being fired. But that won’t happen under Douglas. Because Douglas needs people around him who are willing to compromise their own credibility in his imperial and imperious cause, and to be thrown under the bus by him whenever he chooses.

I put to you also the case of Erastus Laville, a young man whose name has become familiar over the last week or so.

Locked up in 2011 on a murder charge and after contacting different Santa Ana Bail Bonds services to be released on bail, in order to prove his innocence, one would assume, he finally sat in jail until July 2014, when he was acquitted and released.

The main witness (who claimed to be an eye witness) for the prosecution was a young cadet who shortly after he gave his witness statement, was inducted into the Defence Force.

His own brother asked him why he had given the statement although he knew that he was not at the scene of the crime, and his answer was that he had been given a “job” to do.

He allowed himself to be used, in an effort by those who had given him the ‘job’, to make sure that somebody was convicted and imprisoned for that particular murder. And Erastus Laville, a poor young man from McKnight, seen as dispensable and disposable, a young man whose name nobody would remember or even know, could rot in jail for life, so long as the Police and the Government could produce a statistic showing success in murder convictions.

One can only wonder how many other ‘jobs’ that same young perjurer or any other young man or woman has been given in order to lock up innocent people in this land and to show more successful conviction statistics for the Police and the Government.

How can the perjurer remain in the Defence Force? Its credibility is now seriously wounded. Repair and damage control are needed immediately. But the job cannot be completed cannot stop by dismissing the young soldier. It has to go further. An independent investigation needs to be launched to discover exactly who gave him the ‘job’ to lie and put Erastus Laville in jail for life.

And speaking of dismissing the soldier, who will have the guts to do that, given what he may know?

Any government which operates on even the slightest amount of principle, propriety and respect for the law and for the citizens and residents of this nation would take immediate steps to have an investigation done and heads will roll where they have to roll, regardless of how high up the chain of command it goes.

But nothing is likely to happen, because lies, lawlessness and thuggishness rule this land.

And that is where the people need to apply the reset button. Change the leadership.

Think of this: your son, your daughter, another loved one, or you could be the Erastus Laville. And think of this: are there other people in jail serving sentences because of perjury?

And, further, if there are people in jail because of perjury, how many are in their graves because certain people thought that by their own system of justice, that was the best way to get them out of the way?
