Howard University’s first-ever recipient of the Ph.D. degree in Economics Named St.Kitts-Nevis Ambassador to the OAS
St.Kitts-Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris announced today the appointment of Dr. Everson Hull to fill the post of Ambassador to the OAS Organisation of American States.
The Former Howard University Professor and Noted Nevisian Economist was announced as the new Ambassador to the OAS during a Press Conference held on Wednesday May 27th at the Paliamenatry lounge of the Government Headquarters on St.Kitts.
In announcing Dr. Hull’s appointment Prime Minister Harris praised Hull’s contribution to academia as well as his commitment to the development of his island of birth Nevis.
Prime Mnister Harris stated “Dr Hull is an academician whose extensive work in the field of Economics has cemented his value to the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) in the area of economic policy formulation.”
Dr. Everson Hull graduated in 1977 becoming Howard University’s first-ever recipient of the Ph.D. degree in Economics. For more than 20 years, he served as Adjunct Professor in the HU Department of Economics. While teaching in the HU School of Business, Professor Hull earned the distinction of MBA “Professor of the Year” for four of the five years of his full-time tenure. Dr. Hull has served as Senior Economist for the American Petroleum Institute, TRW Inc. and Fannie Mae and has been active in the area of management consulting. He also served at the Congressional Research Service as Head of Money and Banking. This latter tour of duty led to a Presidential Appointment as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Research at the U.S. Department of Labor.
