Presidential Candidate for the APNU+AFC Coalition Brigadier David Granger on the morning of Monday May 11 cast his ballot at the Enterprise Primary School, Durban Backlands saying “Today the rest of your life begins.”

Granger along with his wife Sandra Granger, were the first persons to cast their ballots at the polling station.

“This is a good day for Guyana, a good day for democracy, a good day for our children and the future of the entire country, I am very confident that the APNU+AFC coalition will win,” said the Presidential hopeful.

He also noted that the decisive factor in the elections would be that the people of Guyana want change and from his visits during the campaign season, he is confident that citizens are enthusiastic about voting.

“We are very confident that we will win and we will usher in a new era of democracy, a new era of development; most of all a new era of democracy where the people of Guyana scan start moving forward together again,” he said.

He maintained that he has confidence in the elections observers, particularly the Carter Center to ensure that the polls are free and credible.

“We want the Guyanese people to feel sure that the next government will be an inclusionary government and one that is committed to ensuring the development of all the people, hinterland and coastland, all strata of society,” the APNU+AFC Presidential Candidate said.

He said too that he will be spending the rest of his day visiting polling stations in communities across the country.

Since before dawn this on May 11 persons were seen lined up at their respective polling stations eagerly awaiting their opportunity to cast their ballots.11214150_10152851246754562_950365772432771896_n

The Guyana Elections Commission has said that there are 2299 polling stations across the length and breadth of Guyana with over 570,00 persons registered to vote on the Official List of Electors.
