BVI student Nathaniel Issac Jr found dead in UK dormitory

MANCHSTER, United Kingdom- Word reaching our newsroom is that a student from the Virgin Islands (VI) who was on a government scholarship studying at Manchester Metropolitan University was found dead at the institution’s halls of residence by police early this morning, January 5, 2018.
Mr Nathaniel Issac Jr aka ‘NJ’, a first year student, was 20 years of age and was studying Business and Computer Engineering.
His parents are from West End, Tortola where he also resided prior to going abroad to study.
The cause of death is unknown at this time; however, both campus police and the local metropolitan police are investigating.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Police were called to Oxford Court, on Stretford Road, in Hulme, this morning by ambulance service.
“Officers arrived to the scene at 10:00 A.M. and discovered the body of a man.
Great Manchester Police said the man’s family has been informed.
It said his death is not being treated as suspicious and a file was passed to the coroner.
A spokesman for Manchester Metropolitan University said: ”It is with great sadness that we can confirm the death of a student in halls of residence.
“Our thoughts are with family and friends at this difficult time.
“Professionally trained counselling staff are offering support to students and staff affected and the University has offered assistance to the student’s family.”
