Speaker of the SVG Parliament has expressed disagreement with the Dr. Hon Ralph Gonsalves government’s position that a court hearing should determine whether the Opposition filed Motion of No Confidence should proceed in the House today. The Speaker gave orders for the hearing of the MONC to proceed immediately. The government side is arguing for the Speaker to set the matter down but the Speaker is adamant that the MONC is to be heard. This stands in stark contrast to the now infamous 24 plus month delay of the Motion of NO Confidence in St.Kitts-Nevis which was filed by the then Dr. Timothy Harris -led Elected Majority Opposition against the then sitting Prime Minister and now ousted Dr Denzil Douglas and his SKN Labour/NRP Coalition back between 2012 and 2015.
