ANDERSON PETERS CLAIMS BRONZE FOR GRENADA IN PARIS OLYMPICS
Anderson Peters has secured Grenada’s second medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, triumphing with a bronze in the men’s javelin. In a thrilling competition, Peters launched his javelin 88.54 meters in the fourth round, surpassing Czechia’s Jakub Vadlejch to clinch the podium spot.
The men’s javelin final saw a spectacular performance from Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who set a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters. Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the defending champion, finished in second place with a distance of 89.45 meters.
This historic bronze medal is Peters’ first Olympic medal, complementing his impressive World Championships titles from 2019 and 2022. With this achievement, Peters becomes the third Grenadian to secure an Olympic medal, further elevating Grenada’s standing in international athletics.
