Brantley Personally Thanks Venezuelan President for Donation to Sugar Workers

Caracas, Venezuela (August 11th 2015):- St.Kitts-Nevis Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley took the opportunity recently to personally thank the President of Venzuela Nicolas Maduro Moros for his country’s EC$16 Million donation to the Ex- Sugar Workers of the Federation . Brantley expressed the country’s gratitude to El Presidente Maduro while on a recent visit to the South American country.

In a social media statement Hon Brantley expressed his honor in meeting the Venezuelan leader and announced the President’s commitment to further assist the federation.

Brantley said “Yesterday I had the honour to travel to Venezuela for the first time and was privileged to meet with the President of that great country Nicolas Maduro Moros. He is even more enigmatic in real life than he is on television. I thank him and the people of Venezuela for their ongoing assistance to and cooperation with the people of St. Kitts and Nevis through Petrocaribe and ALBA.”

“ Just yesterday they pledged US$3 million to assist in bringing solar power to all schools and some households in St. Kitts and Nevis. This follows on their donation of EC$16 million for unpaid sugar workers. Thank you Venezuela,” Brantley continued

Prime Minister Dr. Timothy  Harris had, on March 30, received a EC$16million cheque for the grant from Bernardo Alverez Herrera, PDV Caribe President for the payment of balances owed to Ex- Sugar Workers
