GIS, 27 October 2017 – Workers in the field of construction are invited to register with the Labour Department’s registration desk for employment within the Virgin Islands labour force.
Labour Commissioner, Mrs. Janice Rymer said the department is reaching out to BVIslanders, Belongers and Work Permit holders, who have been granted permission by the Immigration Department to seek alternative employment, to register at the desk located at the Central Administration Complex in the area of the Breezeway.
Mrs. Rymer added, “This initiative began on Wednesday, October 25, and is designed to fulfill the mandate of the Labour Code 2010 while providing persons with job opportunities, as we seek to aid in the process of rebuilding lives and the Territory.”
Registered persons will be included in the department’s database which will be utilised by employers when sourcing qualified candidates to fill vacant positions. Interested persons please contact Labour’s Department registration’s desk at 284-468-2147.
