ST.KITTS ARTISTES CRY OUT AS THEY REMAIN UNPAID ONE MONTH AFTER CPL RICK ROSS CONCERT
“We (Local Artistes) always getting the shitty end of the stick and I will not take it any more”
One Month after US Rapper Rick Ross headlined a massive concert as part of the CPL tournament finals the federation’s top acts are crying foul as those who performed are yet to be paid for their efforts.
Kervin “Infamus” Benjamin expressed his frustration via social media on Friday. The very popular artiste declared that he was speaking out not only on his behalf but also on behalf of all the local acts who performed who have yet to be paid. And local artistes who generally have to suffer with bad treatment at the hands of their own in favour of big million dollar acts from overseas
Infamus lamented “I was told to be professional about it so this is me being humble and sad at the same time to say that it has been 1 month since Cpl and Rick Ross left St Kitts and we as the local artist who participated haven’t gotten paid after all the hard work we put into our set its unfortunate That it had to come to this but I believe we always getting the shitty end of the stick and I will not take it any more it is utter nonsense …… Infamusmusic Standing Up For The Future The Present And The Past !!!”
Rick Ross headlined the CPL Super Concert with Infamus, Small Axe Band, Sugar Band and Dagah among the supporting local acts. Infamus had a splendid performance which received rave review from show attendees. All the local acts performed well for the thousands that were in attendance.
Rick Ross’ performance fee has been the source of much speculation as the CPL and the Ministry of Sports , organizers of the show, have been mum on how much the Rap Star was paid. However according to http://www.celebritytalent.net/sampletalent/2992/rick-ross/ Ross’ minimum performance Fee for International performances is US$150,000 almost half a million EC Dollars. It is however widely rumoured that Ross was paid US$500,000 for his performance fee which falls within his range for International performances according to celeberitytalent.net.
Inside sources have indicated that Ross was paid IN FULL before performing at the Super Concert and his 4 night stay at the Marriott also came at the expense of the CPL organizers and the Ministry of Sports.
