BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 17, 2019 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Residents of St. Kitts and Nevis continue to receive gainful employment through the Citizenship by Investment Programme-approved St. Kitts Ramada Project being developed in the Whitegate area. This sight was well received by members of the Team Unity Government who were present during a tour of the construction site earlier today (Thursday, January 17).
The touring delegation was led by Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, and included members of his Cabinet, senior government officials and representatives of Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Corporation, which is the developer of the St. Kitts Ramada Resort.
Attorney General, the Honourable Vincent Byron, who was at the time making his first official visit to the site, stated, “I am really very excited with what we see here because it went far beyond my expectations to see the buildings that have been erected and the conference room structure in place.”
Notwithstanding the progress being made at the site, the Attorney General stressed that he was most satisfied to see and learn of the many nationals who have received employment throughout the construction phase of the Ramada project and the hundreds who will be gainfully employed upon its completion.
Speaking directly to the CEO of Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Corporation, Ms. Ying Jin, Minister Byron said, “We are happy that you have involved in your labour force many of our citizens. I see them from all over, from Newtown, Sandy Point, St. Paul’s and there are a number of locals who were already employed, and we are heartened to understand that once this project is opened you will have more than 300 locals employed in the ongoing operations of the hotel.”
“This is what foreign direct investment does for us and we are happy to have [Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Corporation] as a good corporate citizen here,” the Honourable Attorney General added, while noting that the St. Kitts Ramada Hotel project will continue to enjoy the fullest support from the Team Unity Government.
