Whale Found Beached On Nevis
New River, Nevis (February 26th 2016):- A Whale was found dead on a beach in New River in Nevis . The giant sea creature is estimated at 25ft in length and is belived to be a Sperm Whale.
Whale sightings are a regular occurrence
in the waters between Nevis and Monsterrat at this time of the year. It is estimated that around 200 whales come here every February thru March to give birth in the waters between Nevis and Montserrat, they are usually more visible on the Atlantic side of the islands .
Sperm whales are deep sea creatures and can easily become disoriented if they get into shallow waters in search for food.
