Sprint Legend Kim Collins blazed to a third-place finish in the 60-metre dash for men at the 2018 ISTAF Indoor meeting in Berlin, Germany, held earlier on Friday, 26th, January.
The 41 Year Old Icon Collins, clocked 6.64s as he placed third in the men’s final behind Italy’s Filippo Tortu (6.62) who is more than half his age and winner Bingtan Su of China 6.55. Tortu was born 3 years after Collins made his Olympic games debut in 1995.
Su’s time was only 0.05 seconds off Collins’ meet record of 6.50.
Earlier, the 41-year-old Collins, who continues to defy time and impress his fans was second in his qualifying heat in 6.66 seconds. The heat was won by Tortu in 6.62.
Collins who recently moved back to his home in St.Kitts is expected to lead the St.Kitts-Nevis Team at the Commonwealth Games and the World Indoors. Collins won the Commonwealth Games Gold in 2002.
